Beyond happiness

Is life beyond happiness?
I recently watched a short film called "Happiness" by Steve Cutts on YouTube. The protagonist is searching for happiness. Everywhere they go, everything they see is happiness, so they chase one dopamine hit after another, seeking that constant state of joy and pleasure. This reminded me of us humans. We're programmed to chase dopamine hits. From social media likes to consumerism, we constantly seek that fleeting "high" that quickly fades, leaving us wanting more. This cycle keeps us perpetually chasing the next "happiness fix," preventing us from truly experiencing contentment.
The misconception that happiness is a constant state of joy and pleasure is prevalent. It's more about a constant state of inner peace and contentment. This relentless pursuit of "always happy" leads to exhaustion and emptiness. Maybe the goal isn't to be perpetually happy, but to find meaning and fulfillment in our experiences, even those that are challenging or painful.
This made me question: Is our search for "happiness" the end goal? Is being happy what matters at the end of the day? Where does our "happiness" lie? Isn't our purpose in life beyond happiness?
Steve Cutts' film "Happiness" makes us think deeply about how we chase happiness. It's a reminder to ask ourselves if we're just trying to feel good all the time, or if there's a deeper meaning to our lives. The film helps us see that true happiness might come from things that last longer than just a quick feeling of pleasure.
